1. What is a Harmonic Scanner?

  • Pattern scanning software designed to work in MetaTrader 4. It identifies the turning point (or the trend reversal point) of the current trend by detecting the harmonic patterns with high prediction power. It is an analyzer to identify, calculate and illustrate harmonic price patterns in any financial market, including stocks, forex, commodities and options.

4. What servers should I scan if I want to connect to the following accounts/brokers:

  • FXCM Demo Account  

    • Right click account - Open New Account - Search for Forex - Select FXCM USDemo01 - Next - Put all info required - Login Details Provided - Done

  • Tradersway Live

    • Right click account - Open New Account - Search for Forex - Select TW Corp - Tradersway Live - Next - Put all info required - Login Details Provided - Done

  • FXChoice Pro Live

    • Right click account - Open New Account - Search for Forex - Select FXCM USDemo01 - Next - Put all info required - Login Details Provided - Done

 

5. What is the difference between the Standard Scanner and the Binary Scanner?

  • Standard scanner shows patterns for timeframe H1, H4, D1

  • Binary scanner shows patterns for timeframe M5, M15, M30

 

6. What is the address to download the harmonic scanner?

 

7. Can I enable alerts on my MT4?

  • Yes. Right click on the chart - Properties - Go to Expert Advisors - Set the Alerts to True - Save

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8. Can I save my current MT4 settings and import them later on?

  • Yes. Right click on the chart - Properties - Go to Expert Advisors -

 

 

 

9. How can I refresh the list of the patterns on the scanner?

 

  • Right click on the Market Watch - Select Show All - Drag one pattern from that box and drop to the chart - Patterns will be updated and more patterns will show up

 

 

10. How do I enable Email Alerts on the scanner?

  • Email alerts will be sent to your chosen email address (Personal Email) as soon as new alerts are available.

 

Here’s How:

Right click on the chart - Properties - Expert Advisors - Set the Email Alert to True

Go to Tools - Options - Email Tab

11. How can I configure the settings for Email Alerts?

  • Email alerts are notifications sent to your emails if there is a new pattern on the Harmonic Scanner.  

How to enable Email Alerts:

 

  1. Right click on the chart, go to Expert Advisors - Properties

  2. Look for Send Email - Set it to true

  3. Go to Tools Tab - Options - Email Tab

  4. Configure the following base on your server/email info:

  • Check enable box

  • SMTP Server - depends on which server your email is on (for the list of server please check this forum: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=273034)

  • SMTP Login - This is your email address

  • SMTP Password - This is your email address password

  • From and To - Put the same on your SMTP Login (Your email address)

  • Click on OK then restart the MT4

  • Open the MT4 and go to back to Tools - Options - Email

  • Send a Test Mail - OK

  • Check the error on the Journal Tab

Note: If there is an error especially on Gmail, change the server. You may try the server smtp.gmail.com or smtp.gmail.com:465 if that does not work and on other servers too (Hotmail or Yahoo) please double check your password and login to your web email to ensure the password is correct.
